Het LGN2020 bestand is een landsdekkend rasterbestand met een resolutie van 5 meter waarin 48 vormen van landgebruik zijn onderscheiden. In het bestand worden o.a. de belangrijkste landbouwgewassen, een aantal natuurklassen en stedelijke klassen onderscheiden. De geometrie en thematiek op hoofdklassen is volledig gebaseerd op Top10NL (versie 2018). Agrarische percelen, kassen, boomgaarden, fruitkwekerijen, boomkwekerijen, zand, heide, bossen, water en infrastructuur zijn overgenomen uit Top10NL. Het stedelijk gebied is gedefinieerd m.b.v. Bestand BodemGebruik (BBG2015) i.c.m. Top10NL. Het agrarisch gebied is ingevuld met (geaggregeerde) gewassen uit BRP2018 aangevuld met gewasclassificaties gebaseerd op satellietbeelden. Voor de verdere invulling van de hoofdklassen is o.a. gebruik gemaakt van satellietbeelden van 2018, luchtfoto\u2019s, AHN2/3, Basiskaart Natuur 2017 (BKN2017) en LGN7. Het LGN2018 bestand heeft enkele belangrijke wijzigingen ondergaan t.o.v. LGN7. Naast de vergroting van het ruimtelijk detail van 25m*25m naar 5m*5m is m.n. ook het thematisch detail van de natuurgebieden verbeterd. De natuurklassen zijn nml. eenduidiger gedefinieerd en er zijn 8 natuurklassen bijgekomen op basis van hoogte informatie uit de AHN in combinatie met multi-temporele classificatie van Sentinel-2 beelden uit 2018. Ook is de klasse \"overig grondgebruik in het agrarisch gebied\" toegevoegd. Naast de verdere thematische en ruimtelijke detailering van het LGN bestand is het productie proces sterk verbeterd en geautomatiseerd, waardoor de productie doorlooptijd sterk is verkort. LGN kan nu jaarlijks geleverd worden. Landgebruiksbestanden LGN1 en LGN2 waren nog experimentele bestanden met beperkte nauwkeurigheid en duidelijke tekortkomingen. In LGN3 zijn deze tekortkomingen grotendeels opgelost en met LGN3plus is de bruikbaarheid van het bestand voor toepassingen op het gebied van natuur en ecologie sterk verbetert. Met het LGN4-bestand is een nieuwe stap gezet met het uitbreiden van de toepassingsmogelijkheden van het LGN-bestand. Belangrijke verbeteringen die doorgevoerd zijn in het LGN4-bestand zijn een koppeling van de landbouwgewassen aan TOP10-vector en de mogelijkheid om veranderingen in landgebruik op te sporen, die zich in de periode 1995-2000 hebben voorgedaan. De versies 1-3 van het LGN-bestand werden geleverd als één enkel rasterbestand. Het LGN7-bestand bestaat net als het LGN4, LGN5 en LGN6-bestand niet uit een enkel rasterbestand, maar vormt een collectie van bestanden.<\/SPAN><\/P>
